Psychoeducational Assessments

Are You...

Wondering about how to support your child or adolescent's learning, behaviour, or emotional well-being? Understanding the root causes of your child or adolescent’s struggles and how to best support them can be challenging.

Many parents are uncertain about their child or adolescent's unique needs and how to address them. A psychoeducational assessment provides a comprehensive and detailed understanding of how your child or adolescent learns, along with their strengths and needs for support.

Understand & Support Your Child Or Adolescent’s Needs

I offer psychoeducational assessments to help children and adolescents learn how they learn - including their strengths and needs for support.

These assessments provide detailed information on cognitive abilities, academic skills, and emotional and psychosocial functioning, allowing us to develop personalized recommendations for support at school and home.

The Assessment Process

INTAKE SESSION

An initial conversation with parents and older youth to understand the context, areas of strength, and to begin identifying potential needs for support.

ONE-ON-ONE TESTING

Personalized testing typically spread over two days to evaluate cognitive and academic abilities.

QUESTIONNAIRES

These questionnaires are completed by parents, teachers, and older youth to provide a well-rounded view of the child or adolescent's strengths and needs.

CLINICAL INTERVIEW

During a detailed clinical interview with Dr. Lyndsay Evraire, the child or adolescent shares their experiences firsthand. This conversation helps gather important information because they know themselves best and can provide unique insights into their own lives.

REVIEWING DOCUMENTS

Exploring report cards and relevant documents (like previous assessment reports) to inform the assessment.

FEEDBACK

A feedback session to discuss the assessment results and recommendations/next steps, where we will review the findings in detail and address any questions you may have.

REPORT

A comprehensive report detailing findings, diagnoses, strengths, needs for support, and tailored recommendations. As part of my neuroaffirmative approach, I ensure that children or adolescents and their parents thoroughly understand the results and their implications.
